Projeto Fornando O Futurno (Project FF) is an out of school day care project for school age children who live in a favella in the far northern suburbs of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The name was given to the project by one of the young girls who uses the centre. It translates into English as Project Forming the Future.

The project is run by Australian Olivia Nassaris who I was introduced to one sunday afternoon at the world's largest football stadium, the Maracana. Minutes into meeting her I found myself volunteering to create a logo and website for the project. She puts up a very compelling argument.

The website has been designed as a fundraising tool for Project FF in the English speaking world.

I built the site using the free open source software Wordpress, a user friendly product which will allow Olivia and her volunteers to easily update content.

Because of the lack of resources it was decided that the website be hosted on a Wordpress server which is a free service. This decision limited the scope of design options for the site which meant only a small amount of customisation in the look and feel of the site. However it did cut the amount of time I needed to spend on the design and will mean ongoing maintenance of the site is less complicated.
