THE BREATH STATION - your personal CO2 sequestration solution

As green house gas levels soar we are forced to consider how to offset our personal carbon dioxide emissions. At the Breath Station you can redeem your CO2 by thoughtfully disposing of every breath you take.

The Breath Station is an interactive installation where you can breathe your CO2 over the leaves of a small lemon tree and hear a sonic reponse or capture your breath in a balloon to be buried deep underground.

Participants are invited to:
"Draw inspiration from your oxygen-enriched surrounds at our green carbon sink. As you nuzzle up to the foliage to indulge in some gaseous exchange. Breathe all over their leaves and listen very carefully.

Alternatively you can try our Carbon Capture and Storage, CCS model where we will literally take your breath away. Give us your unwanted CO2 and we’ll take care of the rest, hiding it away underground, out of sight out of mind."

The Breath Station installation was developed for the Critical Animals Creative Research Symposium within the This is Not Art 2010 festival program.
